In plain English:

We respect your privacy by being careful with the data we collect and by not collecting much data in the first place. If you are visiting, you should know that we use Google Analytics cookies and anonymous IP data in order to improve your browsing experience and make sure our website is running properly. We cannot and would not personally identify anyone through the use of Google Analytics.

You are well within your rights to remove Google’s cookies from your computer at any time. Indiana University has several excellent tutorials explaining how to do that from any browser or mobile device. You can also prevent Google Analytics from storing cookies on your computer in the future by using Google’s privacy plugin. If you decide to sign up for our free trial, our system will note who referred you to us. We will also ask for some personal information in order to set up your account and create your website. We will only use that information in order to contact you about your website. We will not sell or give your information to anyone, and we will delete all your information and website within a reasonable time period if you decide to cancel. We will also delete your information and website if your website is unused and we are unable to reach you – in other words, if you cancel without expressly letting us know, we will still make sure that your information is removed from our system. At any time, you may request to see the information we have stored in your account.

While you are using Foliotwist, you will be able to log in and make changes to your own website. The information you decide to share is entirely up to you, and you will have full control over deleting, modifying, or updating that information. If you decide to become a paying member, your financial information is safe as well: we use PayPal to securely collect all payments and fees, and do not store any sensitive financial information on our servers.

FolioTwist LLC (“”) understands the need to protect the personal information of our visitors and users (“You” or “Users”). (“Site”) provides unique content-management systems and other online services (“Services”) for artists to create and publish their own content online. As such, it is necessary for us to collect some personally identifiable information from our Users. The following policies outline the steps we take to protect that privacy.

Collecting personally identifiable information

Throughout the initial registration process, we collect your name, email address, user name, password, and referral data. Payment information is only collected if you decide to join as a paying member, and is secured using a high-grade 256-bit encrypted SSL certificate. Additional information is collected through the use of our Services, such as filling out your profile, uploading artwork, and creating blog posts. We use this information to provide our service and create personalized features.

Any user-generated content is posted at your own risk. While we make every effort to ensure that our service is secure, information posted is public. is not responsible for any improper use of this information. Improper or illegal use of the material provided by represents a violation of the Terms of Service.

Information Collected

We collect only the referring domain name of visitors to our Web page, the name and e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations, name and address, telephone number, payment information (e.g., credit card number and billing address).

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our website, disclosed when legally required to do so, at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our website and applicable laws or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Website. You can request a copy of your information at any time.


We use various forms in the artist administration area, as well as on the artist website, to collect information. The information collected in administration forms is used in conjunction with a database to generate content for your FolioTwist website. On the artist website, we provide forms for your viewers to contact you and sign up for your newsletter.

Additionally, uses forms to sign up new customers and process payments. We collect personal information such as name and address. PayPal securely accepts and processes credit card information for these purchases.

Special Promotions

On occasion, we may offer special contests or promotions that require your offering personal information and website statistics in order to participate. Participation is entirely voluntary.

IP Addresses

IP addresses are unique sequences of numbers assigned to your computer by a web server. We use Google Analytics to anonymously make use of IP address data to help us diagnose problems on our site.


We use cookies to collect, store, and track information in order to improve the services we provide. If you are a customer, we use cookies to save your preferences. These cookies do not enable third parties to access any of your personally identifiable information.

How we use the information we collect

First and foremost, your personally identifiable information is used to provide you with a unique and customized experience on our site. This information enables us to track how our service is used and to tailor it to better serve your needs.

If you subscribe to any of our opt in email communications such as newsletters, new feature announcements, or member discounts, you will always have the option to unsubscribe by clicking a link from within the email. Managing your personally identifiable information

If you need to update your information at any time, you may do so by logging into your Admin Panel and clicking the My Account tab. Alternatively, you may send email communication visiting us at should you wish further customization or to stop receiving communication from us.


While our site is not directed to children under the age of 13, we are committed to protecting the privacy rights of children and parents. The use of our service is geared towards professionals requiring the use of a credit card, and we assume this is done by adults or minors supervised by an adult.

We may ask for age verification on any part of our site, and if a user indicates that they are under 13 years of age, all information pertaining to them will be deleted. Furthermore, if a parent believes that their child has provided us with personally identifiable information, they may contact us at Upon learning that a user is under 13 years of age, we will promptly delete all personally identifiable information pertaining to the child.
